Coffee & Flowers: Refreshment and Retail-Fucking-Therapy

One of the best things about my job is that I get 3 optional days off a month to “refresh” myself. My bosses are a little odd but they’re very sweet and very understanding of my affliction (aka fiction haha) which I really appreciate. Today is my first day availing of these thangs and I’m really looking forward to having a day to just do whatever the hell I want.

Last night I went out on a date with my boyfriend and it was very, very pleasant. We watched 300 part 2 which was super funny (and Eva Green is one smexy lady–grrrrl).

After the movie we walked around and I ended up going into PCX. I’m not sure what it is about cosmetics that are so comforting–the (maybe false) promise of bottled confidence is just too tempting to turn down. Having formerly had a fashion/beauty blog, I find it very difficult to resist binge-buying cosmetics (lipsticks, especially) although I am quite proud of my recently employed self-control; if there’s one unrealistic thing about Breakfast at Tiffany’s it’s that Holly never ran into a CVS to buy lipstick. I got two Revlon lip thangs (another thing I love about cosmetics are the names of the thangs–I never buy stuff that isn’t named) in Honey and Crush. I also got hair shiz and stuff for my black heads (it surprisingly works).

IMG_20140324_111104I took advantage of my creative day off thang today so I’m at home, sitting at my desk. I had coffee and orange cream-filled sunflower crackers for breakfast. On the itinerary today is an odd mix of business and pleasure: I’m working on some shiz for MoarBooks and also watching a couple of shows and movies I downloaded. Later in the afternoon I’m going to go walking/hanging out in the park with my neighbor Nico (heller!) who I only recently began to befriend. Yay for friendship expansion! 🙂 I hope everyone is having a good day.
